Botanologia: The English Herbal or the History of Plants
MetadataShow full item record
William Salmon, who lived from 1644 through 1713, was a physician and astrologer. He worked as a practitioner treating outpatients at the St. Bartholomew Hospital, without having received a formal education. In addition, he casted horoscopes and worked as alchemist and apothecary. Salmon wrote many books on science, medicine, drawings, dyeing, and transubstantiation. Botanologia is mainly a collection from other authors. However, the woodcarvings appear to be crafted particularly for this publication.
