Susan Jerger is the Ashbel Smith Professor in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences. She is also the founder and head of the UT Dallas Children's Speech Processing Lab. Her research focuses on children with mild to severe sensorineural hearing loss who often use hearing aids and spoken language as their primary mode of communication. Since there is a wide variance of success in speech understanding in these children, her studies seek to explain their differences in spoken word recognition.
