ADVANCE began as a quarterly publication produced by the Graduate Research Center/Southwest Center for Advanced Studies in 1964. It became a newsletter produced monthly, 10 times a year beginning in April 1967. It became bimonthly in September 1968 and its publication continued when the Center became The University of Texas at Dallas. It changed to a biweekly newspaper format in October 1974. The publication became monthly in September 1977 and it name changed to UTD ADVANCE a month later. The last issue was published in Summer 1985.
