The Rare Books Collection includes printed books ranging in date from the 16th to 21st centuries, as well as maps, artwork and manuscripts. Like many other institutional collections, the basis has been formed of smaller collections of individuals or groups who have given or sold their books to UT Dallas over time. "Rare" books have been identified and kept separate from the main Library stacks by Special Collections curators.
