Lloyd C. "Pat" Landry, a World War II veteran, was a Paramilitary Officer in the Special Activities Division of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) during the 1950s through 1970s. In 1961, Landry was sent by the agency as Deputy Chief of Operations to operate in Laos under the command of Bill Lair. There, he trained members of the Hmong people commanded by Gen. Vang Pao in their fight against the communists in Northern Laos during the Vietnam War.
