Abstract
Description
Poster for a lecture by Megan Kate Nelson, writer and former teacher of American history and American studies at Texas Tech, Cal State Fullerton, Harvard and Brown universities. This presentation focused on the Confederate invasion of New Mexico by John R. Baylor and the 2nd Texas Mounted Rifles. She suggested that the defeat of the Union column sent to oppose them was not the result of military might but of the nature of the desert Southwest.
