Abstract

Porous materials have been widely used for various applications. Due to their high surface area, tunable pore size, and adjustable pore structure, porous materials have played an important role in modern world scientific research. Recently, a new material, wrinkled mesoporous silica has attracted considerable attention due to the porosity, biocompatibility, and the morphology. In the past decade, wrinkled mesoporous silicas have been developed for catalysis, energy storage, absorption, and drug delivery. In this study, various types of wrinkled mesoporous silica have been synthesized and characterized. Biphenyl bridged wrinkled mesoporous silicas have also been used for iodine absorption and drug delivery.
