Michael Kilgard is the Margaret Fonde Jonsson Professor of Neuroscience. He is also the Prinicipal Investigator of the UTD Cortical Plasticity Laboratory. Dr. Kilgard's research is dedicated to understanding the self-organizing principles of the cerebral cortex, particularly how "sensory experience alters the distributed responses of thousands of cortical neurons in a behaviorally useful manner."
